Rev. Michael R. Burgos, Ph.D.
Michael Burgos is an experienced biblical counselor and serves as pastor of Northwest Hills Community Church in Torrington, Connecticut. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Bible and Theology from Lee University (Cleveland, TN), a Certificate in Biblical Counseling from Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary (Wake Forest, NC), a Master of Arts in Theology from the University of Chester (Chester, UK), a Master of Arts in Biblical and Theological Studies from Belhaven University (Jackson, MS), and a Doctor of Philosophy in Polemical Theology from Forge Theological Seminary (Charleston, SC). Pastor Burgos is also a Doctor of Ministry in Biblical Counseling candidate at the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary (Louisville, KY). He holds certification from the Association of Certified Biblical Counselors with a specialization in addictions as well as certification from the International Association of Biblical Counselors.

Rev. Michael & Betsy Ambrose
Mike has been a pastor for over forty years. He’s counseled teens, parents, individuals, and couples facing many different life challenges. He and Betsy have been married for forty-seven years. Together, they’ve raised four children and are now grandparents to fourteen grandchildren. They’ve led groups for both couples and parents, hosted Bible studies, led children’s and youth ministries, and ministered with all kinds of people in the church. Mike holds an undergraduate degree in Biblical and Theological Studies from Gordon College and a Master’s in Religious Education from Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary (Hamilton, MA). He’s currently pursuing ACBC certification.

Sarah Trotto
Sarah received her bachelor's degree in Biblical Counseling from Boyce College (Louisville, KY) and is presently working toward certification with the Association of Certified Biblical Counselors. A Torrington native, Sarah and her husband Alex are members of Northwest Hills Community Church.

Paul Carmen
Paul is a US Navy veteran and long-time Torrington resident. He is a father of four and has been married to April Carmen for nearly thirty years. He works in the IT Support field by day and serves as an Elder at Northwest Hills Community Church in Torrington. Paul is currently pursuing ACBC certification.

April Carmen
April Carmen is a Navy veteran. She has been married to her husband, Paul, for almost 30 years. She is also a mother and, most importantly, a follower of Christ. April was a counselor at Grace Place pregnancy resource center. She is a Sunday school teacher for nursery school-aged children.

James E. Lawson
Jimmy has spent most of his life in Torrington. He is a graduate of Oliver Wolcott Technical School from the Machine Drafting Department and a 25 veteran of the volunteer fire service. He has been married to his wife Natasha for 16 years and is a father of 2 boys, 21 and 13 years old. Jimmy is an IT manager for his current employer for 20 years. He is the Deacon of Safety and Usher Services for Northwest Hills Community Church in Torrington, CT.
